Program Overview
This course introduces students to the principles of the science of Qirāʾāt (Qur’anic recitations): its definition, origin, and historical development; the meaning of the Seven Aḥruf (modes of revelation); the types of recitations; and the theoretical (dirāyah) issues connected with this science. It also introduces the Ten Reciters and their transmitters.
Main Objective
To equip students with a sound understanding of the principles of the science of Qirāʾāt — its origin, the scholarly tradition of writing in this field, and the theoretical issues related to the recitations from the standpoint of dirāyah (knowledge of its principles and rules).

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Explain the key terminology and issues of this science.
• Describe the origin and development of the Qirāʾāt and the meaning of the Seven Aḥruf.
• Clarify the field of taḥrīrāt (editorial refinements) and its related issues.
• Explain the concept of ikhtiyār (selection) in the recitations, its ruling, and its reasons.
Skills
• Distinguish between the technical terms and issues of this science.
• Participate effectively in discussion and analysis within the learning sessions.

• Demonstrate responsibility and positive cooperation with peers in study and group activity.
Program Structure
Duration: 3 months
Mode: Online / Hybrid (live classes with guided recitation)
Date and time: Every Thursday and Friday, 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm (starting Oct 15th)
Fees: 350 SAR
Method: Teacher-led instruction, supervised recitation, and assessments
Language: Instruction primarily in English.
